Supports People with Substance Abuse Problems

This recovery-based housing offers community living and supportive services to people in the early stages of recovery who are homeless and have serious problems related to substance abuse.

The length of stay can be up to one year.

About the Program

Recovery-based housing builds a foundation for long-term recovery by providing clients with low-rent housing (based on income), individual and group treatment, access to 12-Step meetings, employment services and case management.

 

Admission Criteria

  • Successful completion of a Providence Center short- or long-term substance abuse residential services program or other similar services in the Rhode Island community
  • Income/ability to pay rent according to Providence Center and HUD guidelines
  • Willingness to follow program rules

The Providence Center, located in Providence, Rhode Island, is a participant in a number of major health insurance plans, including state-sponsored plans.
