After an alarming number of deaths to due opiate overdoses, The Providence Center, Anchor Recovery Community Center and public health officials responded to the crisis with a new program that places recovery coaches in the emergency departments of local hospitals on weekends. Certified recovery coaches, peers with lived experience, are available at Kent Hospital to guide patients to addiction treatment services.
