The Providence Center residential substance use treatment programs are now two gender-specific programs. Long-term care at Zambarano Hospital in Burrillville, RI, will house Roads to Recovery: Women, a residential program developed specifically for women in recovery. This 16-bed facility will focus on women’s individual needs including trauma, domestic violence, developing positive relationships, pregnancy health, employment and education and parenting skills.

The former short-term residential substance use treatment program at Mathias in Cranston, RI, will now be
Roads to Recovery: Men, a residential program designed to provide a full range of recovery programs for men. Services for men will include addiction education, mental health services, cultural needs, relapse and trauma prevention and comprehensive treatment services.

Although each location is gender specific, both Roads to Recovery programs are structured residential drug and alcohol addiction treatment programs that offer support no matter where an individual is in their recovery journey. The overall goal of both programs is to provide men and women with a team that will develop individualized treatment and discharge plans that meet each person’s specific needs. Both programs will have access to TPC’s support services including Anchor Recovery Community Center and primary care.

Services for both Roads to Recovery programs include:
  • Individualized treatment & discharge planning
  • Access to support services

  • Access to primary care
  • Case management services
  • Basic living skills
