Recovery Navigation Program

The Providence Center's Recovery Navigation Program

A Community Resource for Those Struggling with Addiction

The Recovery Navigation Program is an initiative designed to provide intoxicated people a safe and supportive place to stabilize. Located above the Emmanuel House homeless shelter in South Providence, the program provides care to patients who otherwise have limited support and continue to over-utilize emergency services. The Recovery Navigation team consists of a registered nurse, case manager, security guard, peer recovery specialists, program manager, intake coordinator, and outreach specialist.

By working directly with EMS and hospitals for referrals, and collaborating with community-based organizations, the program aims to refer and connect people to the appropriate setting for the best care possible.

Those admitted to the program must:

  • Be inebriated
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Not be medically compromised
  • Not be experiencing alcohol withdrawal symptoms that require medical treatment
  • Be cooperative and agreeable to the program’s guidelines

The program is open from 12:30PM – 11PM, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
